The Editions du Cabardès were created in january 2006 in the little village of Ventenac-Cabardès, at the foot of the Montagne Noire, just a few kilometres away from Carcassonne and its medieval city.
This enthusiastic young publishing house is specialized in illustrated books and board games presenting with great originality and creativity the historic heritage of Carcassonne and its surrounding area.
Read the Little Guide of.. "Carcassonne Bastide", "Carcassonne City" and “Aude, and discover Carcassonne from a whole new angle : these famous places still full of life but steeped in history are portrayed with bright and colourful illustrations which you can also find reproduced on postcards and puzzle games.
The books all exist in English and Spanish translation and will soon be available in German.
The Editions du Cabardès brought in the year 2008 with a new amusing board game about the history of the medieval city :
Every one knows Snakes and Laders, the well-known parlour game. Knights of Carcassonne, to the table ! takes you along a treacherous path strewn with the usual obstacles (bridges, wells…), as well as surprise encounters (duals, labyrinths and laundry sessions…), before reaching the heart of the medieval city where you will savour a well-deserved roast goose… to be shared with family or friends, of course !
The game, available from all bookshops of the Carcassonne Bastide and in many shops of the Medieval City , will entertain visitors of all ages and walks of life, with its rules in 4 languages.
Under the impetus of their enthusiastic director, Monique Subra, the Editions du Cabardès also promote the artwork of local artists and, pursuing their lighthearted, humorous editorial line, bring a breath of fresh air to the world of publishing !
